The software is NOT user friendly and it is difficult to navigate. But I've decided to replace it. So I received the new remote with no problem and reprogrammed it. I can't honestly recommend this remote to anyone who's not familiar with programming systems or even someone who's not adept at using a computer. You then have to press HELP and cycle through which equipment didn't turn on. I was also told the the Monster Illuminescence dimmer switch for the lights will only work with this remote.
Again, same thing happened where it worked for another month and my equipment won't all activate based on the activity I want to do. I'm not sure what happened and I'm not aware if its been dropped at all. It worked well at first but after a few months something happened and I found myself reprogramming it. I also have a 3 year old and the remote breaks easily.
You will just get frustrated overtime with this remote. So I will have that replaced also. God forbids you drop it on the ground. I also had bought the installation service and they programmed the remote.
Anyway, once you get everything set-up and say you want to watch TV, sometimes not all of your equipment will turn on. If you bought it in less than a year, the manufacturer replaces it but you have to make sure you bought it at one of their authorized reseller otherwise you are out of luck. If you decide to buy this remote.it's pretty much buyer beware. Overall, this remote is too fragile and they need to make their software user friendly.
I bought this remote as part of a system that I bought at Circuit City. Plugging it to your computer to reprogram it doesn't work either. This time around, the remote is no longer functioning.
Final straw however was when the Omnilink RF/IR extender didn't work to control my remote devices. This was my first purchased ever returned from Amazon.com. A+ to Amazon.com on their returns process. I had a horrible time getting the Web-based software to communicate with my PC (kept getting "Unable to Display Content" error messages). The LCD display is poor. I disliked the boxy feel of the remote. Remote received and returned. The remote doesn't fit in your hand very well. After doing a bunch of Google searches I finally found a solution to the problem and got the software to configure it (required uninstalling and reinstalling the software and creating another account to manage the remote).
Works great if you have trouble setting it up call them for help was pretty quick
It may be a good product, but I will never know because it will be returned. Customer service has extremely limited hours, only during the week and only during the middle of the day, Eastern Standard Time.I am Mountain Standard Time. I emailed customer service, initially with no response. Unfortunately, those of us with daytime jobs are not at home during those hours. Very simple instructions, but it would not turn on any of my audio equipment, including the cable box.
They do not plan on extending hours, nor did they actually seem concerned about the content of my email. After the second email they said call customer service. I repeated instructions again, and went thru the trouble shooting process. I have tried to set this controller up using the computer as suggested. No luck.
They have called my home once, but only during the daytime, when my email clearly stated, that I would not be available during the daytime.
I also had problems with the charger not making contact with the remote resulting in having to pamper the remote in the cradle, bleeding the battery down or making the remote completely re-set it self. Not a happy customer. Even though it took a few hours to set up properly I was quite happy with it for about 6 months, it then started acting up and loosing functions to the point I had to call tech service several times and was spending hours trying to fix it. I finally became so frustrated that I gave up and stopped using it.
